Gajapati: A three-year-old girl was mowed down by a pick-up van at Gandaguda village in Madadua gram panchayat under Adava police station limits in Gajapati districts on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Lusyan Nayak. She had come to Gandaguda village.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred while Lusyan was crossing the road. Soon, a speeding pick-up ran over her killing the girl on the spot.
On being informed, local police arrived at the accident spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
The police also seized the vehicle and launched a probe.
