Cuttack: Cuttack Cyber police have apprehended a minor girl on charges of blackmailing her friend by making viral the latter’s obscene pictures on the internet.
Police have seized a mobile phone from the possession of the accused and have sent her to a correctional home.
The accused and the victim were close friends and used to reside in Chauliagunj locality of the city.
The two fell apart as friends after the accused was caught stealing money from the victim’s house.
Feeling insulted after the unsavoury incident, the accused harboured a desire to take revenge.
She opened a fake profile on social media impersonating as one Raj Patnaik and managed to get obscene pictures of the victim and then circulated those on social media platforms operating through fake profiles.
