Keonjhar: A minor girl was killed and two others critically injured in wasp attack while they were working in agriculture in Kashia village under Ladbil police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
While the deceased has been identified as Nanika Laguri (7), Sujata Munda and Lakshmi Munda were injured in the incident and have been admitted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
According to reports, Sujata and Lakshmi, daughters of Malaram Munda of Kashia village had gone to work in their agricultural field with their niece Nanika. While the two were working in the field, they made Nanika sit under the tree beside the farm.
While the minor girl was playing under a tree, a swarm of wasps attacked her. All three were injured in the wasp attack and admitted to the Keonjhar DHH in a critical condition. As the condition of Nanika deteriorated, she was being shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The minor girl died on her way to Cuttack.
Sujata and Lakshmi are undergoing treatment at the Keonjhar DHH.
