Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday launched simultaneous searches at the properties of Pariktha Jena, Nilagiri Deputy Collector, following allegations of misappropriation of government money to the tune of Rs 1,01,03,215 of the Odisha Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation (OMBADC) funds without executing different developmental works in the Suliapada block area during the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
Jena is a former BDO of the Suliapada bloc in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
According to a press release issued by the Odisha Vigilance, the raids are being conducted to verify the allegations and collect evidence in this connection.
Six Teams of Odisha Vigilance comprising two Additional SPs, four DSPs, six Inspectors, seven ASIs, and other supporting staff engaged in the searches.
The searches are still underway and a detailed report is awaited.
