Bhubaneswar: A hotel owner in the Kalinga Vihar area of Bhubaneswar reportedly escaped a bid on life over past enmity on Wednesday late night. The victim has been identified as Sajan Samal.
According to reports, around 25 armed miscreants barged into his hotel at Kalinga Vihar under Bharatpur police limits late last night when he was about to down the shutters of the hotel. The miscreants attacked Sajan with sticks and swords injuring him grievously. Currently, he is undergoing treatment in a city medical center.
Later, Sajan filed a complaint with the police. Although he claimed that around 25 miscreants attacked him last night, he named five – Anant Samantray, Tapan Badajena, Malinga, Rajkumar aka Pandu, and Udit Pradhan, in his complaint.
The entire act was captured by a CCTV at the hotel and the police have secured the footage of the CCTV.
“A group of armed miscreants entered my hotel around midnight on Wednesday, abused me, and started beating me with sticks mercilessly. They also attacked me with swords and later flung me from the second floor of my hotel,” alleged Samal speaking to reporters on Thursday.
According to Sajan, he had filed an FIR at the Mancheswar police station against these miscreants but the police failed to take any action against them.
