Miscreants Fire At Youth In Marshaghai, Hospitalized

Marshaghai (Kendrapara): A youth was critically injured on Saturday after two bike-borne unidentified armed miscreants allegedly fired at him from a pistol at Mangala Chhak under Marshaghai police limits in Kendrapara district.

The injured youth has been identified as Shakti Chandan Mohanty of Mahira village in Jagatsinghpur district. He has been hospitalized at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.

According to reports, while Shakti Chandan Mohanty who works with a contractor firm as a supervisor was returning home today evening astride a bike, two unidentified miscreants astride a bullet motorcycle tried to stop him and snatch his bag near Mangala chhak. While Mohanty resisted them, the miscreants fired at him from a pistol.

Following the firing Mohanty fell from his bike and the miscreants fled the spot. He was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) here.

As his condition deteriorated he was initially shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital at Kendrapara and later shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
