Bhubaneswar: All concerned, especially the Odisha government, have been trying their best to provide medical, financial, and logistic support to the relatives of the passengers killed or injured in the century’s deadliest train accident near Bahanaga Bazar railway station that killed 275 passengers and the stranded passengers from West Bengal but some miscreants have been conspiring to blemish the Odisha government.
Soon after the accident, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that the government would provide free bus service for the kin of the accident victims and stranded passengers till railway services are normalised. Accordingly, free bus travel was organised from Puri, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack to Kolkata.
Unfortunately, during a surprise visit to the Puri bus stand on Monday night, DCT (Central Zone) and Puri RTO found that the passengers of four private buses leaving for Kolkata on a free ride to Kolkata were forced to cough up the money.
Following this, the official shifted the passengers of the four private buses of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) to ensure free travel to their destination.
On the other hand, the miscreants were nabbed and their vehicles seized.
