Balasore: In a daring daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants looted a State Bank ATM near Gopinath Temple in the Remuna area in Odish’s Baleswar district. The ATM is located at a distance of barely 30 metres from the local police outpost.

The incident reportedly took place between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

According to reports, the miscreants used gas cutters to break the ATM and fled with the cash. In the process, the ATM was completely damaged by the miscreants.

The incident came to light on Sunday morning when some locals spotted the damaged ATM and informed the police. A team of police personnel rushed to the site and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are on to examine the CCTV footage.

Although it is estimated that the miscreants looted cash worth Rs 18.36 lakh, which was filled on Saturday, the precise amount is yet to be ascertained.
