Pipli: An employee of the toll plaza at Pipili in Puri district of Odisha sustained bullet injuries after miscreants opened fire following a dispute with the staff on late Wednesday night.
According to reports, seven persons travelling by car from Bhubaneswar to Puri got into an argument with the toll plaza staff at Pipili. As matters worsened, two of them opened fire at the employees and fled the area. One employee of the toll plaza sustained bullet injuries and he was rushed to a nearby medical center by other staff members and local villagers.
On being informed police reached the spot and began an investigation.
Meanwhile, personnel from four police stations in Puri – Nimapada, Pipili, Gop, and Balanga – joined hands to nab the miscreants. Five of the seven miscreants were nabbed by the police with the help of local villagers on Thursday morning while they were escaping leaving their car at Dagra Sahi Gahir near Nimapada Arisandha.
