Balasore: Two unidentified miscreants stole Rs 60,000 from a cloth store near Ashram Square under Soro police limits in Balasore district on Tuesday on the pretext of exchanging cash. The entire act has been captured on a CCTV camera.
Reportedly, four persons had arrived at the Lifestyle Store on a motorcycle at around 2.30 pm. They brought a dress from the shop worth Rs 400. One of them paid Rs 500 and the shopkeeper returned Rs 100 in return.
However, they asked the shopkeeper to give two currency notes of Rs 50 in exchange for Rs 100. As the shopkeeper was searching the money drawer for Rs 50 currency notes, one of the miscreants stole a bundle of Rs 500 from the drawer.
The shopkeeper did not realise it at the moment but later found a cash bundle missing from the cash drawer. The shop owner Rajendra Agarwal has lodged a complaint in this regard at Soro police station.
