Jajpur: In a tragic incident, the body of a six-year-old boy was recovered from an abandoned stone quarry at Chargotha village under Jenapur police station in Jenapur district, on Thursday.
The deceased child has been identified as Shivu Rout, son of Bauribandhu Rout.
According to reports, Shivu went missing yesterday evening, and a search operation was launched to locate him. Today, his body was found floating in the water accumulated in the abandoned quarry.
Meanwhile, villagers accused Shivu’s father of killing the toddler. The police forces have been deployed to maintain law and order in the locality.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the village, and the police are working to determine the cause of the child’s death and ascertain the circumstances surrounding it.
