Sundergarh: The body of an 18-year-old youth, who had gone missing for the last 40 hours, was found floating in the Ib River on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Swastik, a resident of Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
As per the reports, Satwik had come to his uncle’s place in Talcher along with his family to spend puja vacation. His uncle who works at the Darlipali NTPC power plant in Sundargarh took Swastik and others to Kanakunda, a picnic spot popular for its scenic beauty and serene atmosphere.
On the fateful day, Swastik was drifted away by the strong currents in the river while bathing as his legs slipped and went missing. After an extensive search for 40 hours, the firefighting team found his body floating and fished out his body from the river.
