Rayagada: A youth who has been missing since Thursday afternoon was found dead on a small hillock on the roadside near Dhumaguda village under Baising Panchayat on the outskirts of Rayagada city.
The deceased youth was identified as Shalvi Naik (22) of Patamunda village in Kashipur block.
According to reports, Shalvi has been missing since Thursday afternoon and remained untraced despite hectic searches by his family members. On Friday morning, local villagers spotted his body on a hillock and informed his family members and the police.
On being informed, a team from the Karukachal police station reached the spot and started an investigation along with a scientific team. The police informed that an empty liquor bottle, a mobile phone, some medicines and some money were found on the ground near the body.
Meanwhile, the deceased youth’s sister has cried foul and alleged that her brother was murdered and his body dumped on the hillock.
