Bhubaneswar: In a move aimed at rebranding the public transport system, Odisha Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra announced on Saturday that ‘Mo Bus’ will be renamed as ‘Ama Bus’. This decision is seen as an effort to shed the perceived arrogance associated with the ‘Mo Bus’ name, which translates to ‘My Bus’.
According to Mohapatra, the new name ‘Ama Bus’, meaning ‘Our Bus’, better reflects the people-centric approach of the current government led by Mohan Majhi.
In addition to the rebranding, the minister also announced plans to install cameras in buses to prevent accidents. This move comes in response to recent reports of accidents involving Mo Bus vehicles. The cameras will be installed on the front and back sides of the buses to enhance safety.
The rebranding of Mo Bus to ‘Ama Bus’ is part of the state government’s efforts to revamp the public transport system and make it more people-friendly.
