Bhubaneswar: Isolated places in the Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Cuttack districts of Odisha are likely to experience moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spell of rain within the next three hours. An orange warning for rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has been issued for these four districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that water logging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruptions are likely in urban area during and after the rain. People have been advised to avoid movement in the affected areas and make arrangements for drainage of excess water.
In another bulletin issued at 8.00 am on Thursday, the IMD has issued a yellow for light to moderate rain/thundershowers in some parts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Kendrapara districts within the next three hours. It has advised people are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to avoid lightning strikes.
