Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is scheduled to commence on September 18 and will continue until September 25.
The Speaker’s office has issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification, the session will have only 7 working days.
Meanwhile, the opposition parties, Biju Janata Dal and Congress, are gearing up to corner the government on several key issues, including women’s safety, law and order, and other pressing concerns. Some of the specific issues that are likely to be raised include the FM College student’s death, the Balanga girl’s death, the Gopalpur gangrape case, the Mahanadi water dispute, Student Union Election, OTET question paper leak and compensation for flood victims.
The government, on the other hand, plans to introduce several important bills during the session. The session is expected to be intense, with both the ruling and opposition parties likely to engage in a heated debate on various issues.
