Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have formed multiple teams and launched a massive search operation to rescue a two-year-old boy who was abducted from outside the Ram Temple in Bhubaneswar in the early hours of Sunday.
The missing child, identified as Subham Mallick, was reportedly snatched from his visually-impaired mother around 1:30 am near the temple premises. The mother had raised an alarm shortly after the incident, prompting immediate police response.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena confirmed that both human intelligence and technical surveillance are being used in the ongoing investigation.
“We are making all possible efforts to trace and rescue the child at the earliest. Multiple teams have been deployed and we are treating this as a kidnapping case under the relevant legal provisions,” said DCP Meena.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered and the case is being investigated under kidnapping charges, as per standard procedure in incidents involving missing children below 18 years of age.
