Bhubaneswar: Acclaimed Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar is currently fighting for his life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he’s receiving critical care for multiple health issues. According to a latest update, Majumdar may be airlifted to Delhi for advanced treatment if required.
Majumdar remains comatose and is on mechanical ventilation support. He is currently receiving critical care for multiple health issues, including hypertension, hypothyroidism, chronic liver disease, pneumonia, and severe lung infections. Despite the challenges, his kidney and liver functions have stabilised, and medical teams are working tirelessly to ensure his recovery. However, his condition remains stable but critical, with no significant improvement or deterioration.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar is reportedly in ongoing discussions with AIIMS Delhi regarding Majumdar’s treatment. To ensure the best possible outcome, the hospital authorities are considering shifting him to AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment if his condition necessitates it, said sources.
On the other hand, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling has assured that the state government will bear all medical expenses and has directed that a special medical team be engaged in his treatment. A final decision on shifting him to Delhi will be taken after consulting with AIIMS directors and medical specialists.
