Khurda: Mystery shrouds the death of a 26-year-old Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a house in the Nabin Bagh area in Odisha’s Khurda district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Saumya Ranjan Mahan who was staying with his friends in a rented house in Nabin Bagh. The youth was a native of the Kanas area in the Puri district.
According to reports, Saumya was allegedly murdered over a love affair. His friends said that Saumya had been depressed for the last few days.
However, Soumya’s maternal uncle Sabyasachi told reporters that Saumya used to go to the gym regularly and was fit enough to handle a few rouges. He alleged that Saumya was murdered and hanged by unknown miscreants. He demanded that the police thoroughly investigate the matter and bring out the truth.
Meanwhile, police recovered his body and sent it for post-mortem. They have also initiated an investigation into the death of the youth.
