Bhubaneswar: A team of the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL), has arrived in Odisha to help the State Crime Branch in the probe into Minister Naba Das’ murder. According to reports, the team comprising six members landed in Jharsuguda on Friday night.
The CFSL team from Hyderabad will be assisting Crime Branch in the ongoing probe into the high-profile murder. Earlier in the day, DG Police Sunil Bansal had shared with media persons that the State police will be taking assistance of Central probe agencies and CFSL, as per necessity.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch on Friday stumbled upon prime accused Gopal Das’ diary which is very likely to be a critical piece of evidence in the investigation. Earlier, hand written notes (allegedly penned by the prime accused) were seized from the septic tank of a police station.
Das was murdered in broad daylight on January 29, when he was in Brajarajnagar’s Gandhi Chowk to attend a party programme. He was shot point blank by Gopal, and breathed his last in the evening at Apollo Hospitals in Bhubaneswar.
