Jharsuguda: Accused in the murder of Minister Naba Kisore Das, Gopal Krushna Das was brought from Choudwar Jail today and produced in the Jharsuguda ADJ Court on Thursday.
The discharge petition filed by Gopal was heard today. But since Gopal’s lawyer Mahesh Jena was absent, a time petition was filed in the court.
While the court did not accept the time petition, it was informed that the verdict on the discharge petition would be announced at 2 pm. The honorable court heard and dismissed the discharge petition.
The court also framed charges against accused Gopal Das in connection with the murder case. “Charges have been framed against accused Gopal Das under Sections 302 and 307 of the IPC and Section 27 (1) of the Arms Act. The court will conduct hearing on the case from October 5, reports stated.
