Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan zoo authorities are taking measures to bring a cheetah for the visitors ahead of its foundation day on December 29. The visitors and animal lovers will have the opportunity to watch the new animal from New Year.
PCCF (wildlife) Sushant Nanda informed the media that a new guest will come to Nandankanan Zoological Park in the New Year. Cheetahs, white lion cubs and new birds will add to the beauty of the city zoo.
The guests will come from different places in January under the animal exchange program.
Leopards and white lion cubs will come from Dubai while a giraffe will come to Nandankanan from the central zoo in Alipur, West Bengal.
The State zoo has more than 4000 animals, birds and reptiles. They have been placed in 212 enclosures. There are total of 156 species of animals in the zoo.
