Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park recorded its highest-ever footfall in the 2024-25 financial year with 39,52,097 visitors, officials announced on Monday. The figure marks the highest number of tourists in the zoo’s history from all sources.
According to the Deputy Director, 37,71,980 people visited the zoo while 1,80,117 explored the adjoining State Botanical Garden. Among the visitors, 32,32,126 were adults, 7,19,178 were children and 793 were foreign tourists.
The zoo generated ₹16.35 crore from entry tickets, camera fees and parking charges, with an additional ₹5.87 crore coming from outsourcing facilities. A record ₹3.15 crore was collected through animal adoption programs, reflecting growing public participation in conservation efforts.
