Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar on Sunday launched a new wildlife education programme christened “Night Out at Zoo”. It is an outstanding educational programme wherein participants can learn about the wonderful night-time adaptations of nocturnal animals when the forests and their diverse inhabitants come to life.
The programme aims to educate the participants regarding selected nocturnal animals from the animal collection of Nandankanan Zoological Park.
This educational programme will be provided only on Sundays and only 20 participants are allowed entry into the zoo at night per day. The zoo authorities are arranging battery-operated vehicles and the participants will not be required to pay any additional charge for this.
Those eager to participate in this programme can register online at www.nandankanan.org and the registration fee for each participant is Rs 250.
Registered participants are required to report at the multi-level car parking facility of Nandankanan Zoological Park at 6.15 pm and the programme starts at 8.00 pm.
Here are a few do’s and don’ts for the participants:
- Don’t carry any bag/luggage during the programme.
- You need to follow the instructions of the assisting zoo education staff/volunteer strictly.
- Don’t bring your DSLR or video recording equipment. Photography and videography are not allowed during the programme.
