Bhubaneswar: Preparations are in full swing for the Bahuda Yatra, the return journey of the deities to the Srimandir, as the nine-day Rath Yatra festival nears its final stage.
As per reports, the two chariots, Darpadalana and Taladhwaja, have been positioned near the Nakachana Dwara, awaiting the final rituals. However, the Nandighosa chariot, carrying Lord Jagannath, is expected to reach the Nakachana gate today at 9 am. Although the chariots were supposed to be brought to the Nakachana gate yesterday, the process was delayed due to rain.
Today, the servitors will pull the Nandighosa chariot to the Nakachana gate and turn it southward, marking the beginning of the Bahuda Yatra.
On Wednesday, Vishwakarma, Bhoi, Kumar servitors, engineers, and the Rath Yatra inspection committee oversaw the condition of chariots ahead of the Bahuda Yatra.
Meanwhile, servitors at Mausimaa temple have started preparing Poda Pitha, a traditional sweet dish that is offered to the sibling deities before returning to the Srimandir.
