Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik, on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of six people in a fire at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

At least six patients lost their lives after a massive blaze broke out in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), officials confirmed earlier in the day.

Taking to social media platform X, Patnaik wrote, “Deeply saddened to know about the loss of precious lives in a fire accident at Sawai Man Singh Hospital in #Jaipur, Rajasthan. My thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families during this difficult time. Praying for the swift recovery of those who have sustained injuries.”

The fire tragedy at one of Rajasthan’s largest government hospitals has sent shockwaves across the country, with condolences pouring in from leaders and citizens alike.
