Bhubaneswar: BJD Supremo and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has decided to forgo his hiked salary and allowances recently passed by the Odisha Assembly.

In a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Patnaik requested that the amount be utilised for the welfare of the poor people of the state.

Patnaik expressed his gratitude to the people of Odisha for their love and support over the past 25 years, citing his family’s earlier decision to donate their ancestral property, Anand Bhawan, in Cuttack for public use.
