Nayagarh: Five days after he went missing while returning from private tuition, Amrit Patra of Odagaon was traced on Monday by Odagaon police.
Sarankul SDPO Kiran Hembrem informed that Amrit was rescued from Kural village under Odagaon police limits. Someone had dropped the boy near his village on the wee hours of Monday.
He was rushed to the nearest medical facility for a preliminary check-up, the SDPO added. Amrit, a native of Subudhisahi in Kural, did not return home from tuition on Thursday evening.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by his family, a case was registered and the district police set up 4 teams to trace the missing child. Most likely it was a case of kidnapping as the child seems to be terrified, reports stated.
Following the medical check-up, the child will be produced before a judicial authority where his statement will be recorded. The investigation, in this case, continues, till the allleged abductors of the minor are apprehended, a senior police official said.
