Bhubaneswar: The Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies (NCDS) successfully concluded its 10-Day Advanced Research Methodology Course in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
The programme, held from February 2-11, 2026, aimed to advance methodological rigor, interdisciplinary scholarship, and evidence-based policy research.
The blended format course attracted 70 scholars and professionals from nearly 20 states across India, with 35 physical and 35 virtual participants. The intensive training covered research design, statistical analysis, econometric modeling, and socio-economic data analytics, with sessions delivered by faculty from premier institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru University, Utkal University, and Mumbai University.
The programme integrated emerging technologies like data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, with expert lectures on PRISMA methodology, research funding strategies, and policy perspectives on the National Education Policy. The curriculum balanced technological innovation with ethical responsibility, gender sensitivity, and qualitative insight.
The successful completion of the programme marks a significant milestone in strengthening national research capacity and fostering collaborative, technology-enabled, and policy-relevant academic engagement, reaffirming NCDS’s commitment to advancing research excellence.
