Bhubaneswar: A three-day workshop on implementing the National Education Policy 2020 concluded at the Regional Institute of Education in Bhubaneswar, where ten groups discussed various aspects of the policy.
The discussion has been held on the oundational and preparatory stage, Middle and Secondary Stage, Secondary Stage-2, Assessment and Examination Reform, Teacher Education and Teacher Development, Skill Education, Technological and Digital Education, School Governance and Culture, Development of State Curriculum Framework, to reduce dropout rates and improve GER.
The third day of the program began with group presentations on preparing a roadmap for implementing the National Education Policy 2020 in the state. On the final day, all ten groups gave various suggestions through their presentations.
An important topic like introducing Shishu Vatika in the academic year 2025, contextualisation and development of textbooks, and capacity building of teachers were discussed. Road map to expand Higher Secondary institutions and enhance the ICT and internet connectivity in Higher secondary institutions were also discussed.
Everyone was of the opinion that to develop a single SCF for all stages, contextualized to Odisha’s cultural and linguistic diversity. Draft a vision document reflecting Odisha’s educational history.
The goups expressed their views on the district-level orientation for administrative officers on NEP 2020, sensitize teachers on the new pedagogical structure, and develop mentor-teacher programs to enhance leadership and personal growth.
