Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards community-oriented policing, Khordha Police District today officially launched the “Khordha Police Mitra” initiative along with the unveiling of its dedicated logo and citizen-assistance platform.
The initiative aims to enhance coordination between the police and citizens by providing instant access to essential police services through a technology-enabled and user-friendly platform. It will facilitate prompt public assistance, encourage community participation in policing activities, and strengthen mutual trust and cooperation.
Under this initiative, citizens can access multiple police services such as complaint registration, emergency assistance, mobile theft reporting, senior citizen support, police station location services, feedback mechanisms, and other public assistance facilities through simple QR-based access and WhatsApp support.
The newly unveiled logo symbolises unity, public trust, safety, responsiveness, and the spirit of collaboration between the police and the community. It reflects Khordha Police’s commitment to transparent, accessible, professional, and people-centric policing.
Speaking on the occasion, Vivekananda Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Khordha, highlighted the importance of active public participation in maintaining peace, preventing crime, promoting awareness, and ensuring effective grievance redressal.
He urged citizens to actively associate with the “Police Mitra” initiative and work together with the police for building a safer and more secure society.
The launch programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS, IG of Police, Central Range, along with senior police officers, public representatives, community members, students, media personnel, and other dignitaries.
Khordha Police has reiterated its commitment towards effective community policing and responsive public service delivery through this new initiative.
