Balasore: Family members of a newborn boy have lodged a police complaint alleging that the infant was stolen from the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Saturday. A woman allegedly stole the newborn baby from the maternity ward of the hospital.
According to reports, the accused woman has been identified from the CCTV footage of a camera installed in a nearby ward of the DHH. The CCTV footage shows the woman accompanying an ASHA worker and taking the baby away from his family members on the pretext of vaccinating him.
In her complaint, the newborn’s mother Anita Dandpat alleged, “The woman came with an ASHA worker and asked me to give the baby a check-up in the children’s ward.” She further wrote that she does not know the woman and is yet to get back her baby.”
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have assured Anita that the newborn baby will be found soon. They told her that they had traced the ASHA worker and the woman accompanying her from the CCTV footage.
