Newborn Girl Child Found Abandoned In Balangir

Balangir: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned under a mango tree with ants crawling on her body at Negipali village under Loisinga Police Station in Balangir district, on Wednesday.

The villagers spotted the baby and immediately informed the Loisinga police.

Upon being informed, police rushed to the scene and rescued the baby. Police soon took the newborn baby girl to the Loisingha hospital for treatment. Later, the baby was shifted to the Bhimabhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir for further care.

According to the child welfare department officials, the baby’s condition is stable.

Meanwhile, Loisingha police have started an investigation into the incident and launched a manhunt to identify the baby’s parents and determine the circumstances which led them to abandon the baby girl.
