Koraput: Andhra Pradesh police have arrested three persons including a newly elected Sarpanch from Odisha on charges of smuggling ganja (marijuana) and seized around 680 kg of the contraband.
Andhra Police during regular checking of heavy vehicles near Jeypore junction at Araku in Visakha district arrested the newly elected Sarpanch of Golluru panchayat under Nandapur tehsil of Koraput district Subash Pangi and two others while smuggling around 680 kg of ganja from Golluru village to Andhra Pradesh, informed GD Babau, Circle Inspector (CI).
Police have also seized a vehicle bearing registration number MP 06 MG 1460 used for transportation of the contraband.
