Newlywed Woman Killed Over Husband’s Extra-Marital Affair In Cuttack

Newlywed Woman Killed

Cuttack: A newlywed woman was allegedly killed by her husband’s family members over her husband’s extramarital affairs at Banamalipur village under Tigiria police limits in Cuttack district, on Saturday.

The deceased, Tulasi Rout, was identified as a resident of Banki police limits. She was married to Santosh Jena from Banamalipur village under Tigiria police limits in Cuttack.

According to reports, the parental family of the newlywed woman alleges that members of her in-laws’ family killed her. The father filed a complaint at the Tigiria police station, stating that his daughter was killed by members of her in-laws’ family.

After receiving the complaint, the Tigiria police reached the spot and began investigating the matter further.

“A case No. 300 has been registered at our station,” said Athagarh SDPO Rabindra Kumar Mallick. “The deceased’s father Susant Rout, has filed a police complaint alleging that his son-in-law’s family members were responsible for his daughter’s murder. In the preliminary report, we have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are awaiting the report to proceed with the investigation.”

According to the deceased’s mother Arati, “After marriage, my daughter (Tulasi) was repeatedly tortured by her husband because she protested against his extramarital affair with his sister-in-law.”

The deceased’s father Susant Rout, added, “We saw a scar on my daughter’s neck, and I filed a complaint at the Tigiria police station.”
