Bhubaneswar: It is not possible to provide factual evidence indicating community transmission in Odisha due to lack of sufficient sample size in view of the positivity rate in the State, said Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra on Saturday.
“However, we have to ensure due caution. Even if there is no community transmission, the COVID virus is still there and it may spread. We can’t deny that we will not witness the surge in cases as seen in other States,” he added.
Therefore, there is the need of taking steps to check the transmission. While taking vaccine will protect people from the virus there is the need of following Covid-appropriate behaviour to prevent its spread, said Mohapatra.
