Bhubaneswar: As of now the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued any information on the possibility of cyclone formation in the Bay of Bengal, informed Umasankar Das, Senior Scientist, IMD.
Das said that a cyclonic circulation had formed over the central part of south Bay of Bengal and the adjoining area over Equatorial Indian Ocean around March 10 has become active and under its impact, a low pressure area is likely to form over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Further, there is no information on its development in the next five days, said Das.
He clarified that for the next seven days the formation will have no impact on Odisha.
