Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Warning with a forecast of moderate Thunderstorm with hail, gusty wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph, Lightning and Light to moderate rain, for 5 districts of Odisha.
According to the IMD, these districts are: Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Rayagada. The Orange warning lasts for the next 3 hours (Thursday) evening.
“Under its impact Minor damage to loose / unsecured structures, Minor damage to Banana trees, Damage to standing crops may occur. People are advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly,” the IMD stated.
