Notorious Criminal Sushant Nayak Injured In Police Encounter

Angul: A notorious criminal was injured in an encounter by Angul police near Talabeda village in Talcher in the wee hours of Thursday.

The criminal identified as Sushant Nayak sustained injuries to his left leg during the encounter.

Nayak, who has several criminal cases pending against him, including ones in Talcher, was shot in the left leg during the encounter.

According to reports, Nayak opened fire on the police team, which was forced to retaliate in self-defence. Police have also detained another individual who was with Nayak during the encounter.

Nayak was rushed to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition. The police are investigating the matter further.
