Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here predicted on Friday that some parts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, and Cuttack districts of Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning during the next three hours.
People in these areas have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from a lightning strike.
Meanwhile, the IMD said that seasonal cumulative rainfall in Odisha, realised from June 1 to August 11, is 648.1 mm against its normal value of 686.8 mm. During the period, 10 districts were deficient, 3 in excess and the rest 17 districts were in the normal category.
