Bhubaneswar: Coastal Odisha is experiencing unusually high temperatures for October, with the mercury rising further on Tuesday compared to Monday.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), data recorded at 11:30 am shows a clear upward trend across most coastal stations. Puri recorded 35.2°C today at 11:30 am, up from 34.2°C at the same time on Monday.
Bhubaneswar also witnessed a rise, with 34.4°C recorded at 11:30 am on Tuesday against 33.6°C on Monday. A similar trend was observed at other places. Chandabali recorded 34.2°C on Tuesday compared to 33.8°C on Monday, while Gopalpur saw a jump from 33.0°C to 34.0°C.
Paradeep recorded 33.8°C today against 33.4°C yesterday. Baleshwar remained stable at 34.2°C on both days.
The IMD said early October is proving hotter than normal across coastal and central Odisha, with several places reporting temperatures among the highest ever for the month.
