Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar arrested Odia actor Udayan Aparajeet for his roles in films like Badmas Toka, for allegedly failing to repay a loan of Rs 31.5 lakh.

According to the complaint filed by businessman Saroj Sahu, Udayan, who is a resident of Badamangalpur village under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district, had borrowed the amount in October 2021, claiming it was for upgrading a steel factory. However, despite repeated requests, the actor failed to repay the loan.

The situation took a turn for the worse when a cheque given by Udayan to the businessman bounced due to insufficient funds in his account. When Sahu approached Udayan for repayment, the actor allegedly threatened him with dire consequences.

The police took cognizance of the complaint and arrested Udayan near Badagada Canal Road. The actor, who has also worked on multilingual projects and has been involved in film production, is currently under investigation.
