Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, Abhinav Singh, a rising star in the Odia rap scene, allegedly died by suicide by consuming poison in Bengaluru, on Wednesday.

Singh, also known by his stage name ‘Juggernaut’, was a resident of Cuttack and worked as an engineer in Bengaluru.

According to family members, Singh was subjected to harassment by his wife, leading to acute mental distress. His mother claimed that he left behind a handwritten note, which had been seized by the local police in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru police have, meanwhile, handed over Singh’s body to his family and are investigating the matter. The exact cause of death is yet to be established.

Singh’s father, on the other hand, filed a complaint with Lalbagh police in Cuttack alleging acute harassment by his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law forced him to take the drastic step,

It is pertinent to mention that Singh gained recognition in the Odia rap scene with his track ‘Cuttack Anthem’, showcasing his lyrical prowess and connection to his hometown. However, his career was marred by controversy in August 2024, when Ollywood actress Supriya brought serious allegations against him, claiming he prevented her from launching a music video and allegedly attacked her.
