Koraput: The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) in Kotia panchayat of Koraput district will become operational from the 20th of this month, informed Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra.
“This for the first time the State government has sanctioned a separate OAV in Kotia panchayat. It’s an exception, in no other block two OAVs have been sanctioned. Maximum number of students from this panchayat have applied and they will get admission,” the Chief Secretary said.
These students will reside in hostels and study. Appointment of teachers and others for the purpose will be done, he added.
Mahapatra said that it is a big achievement for Kotia panchayat.
Hospital, police station, panchayat office and other works are being taken up, he added.
He also took stock of the ongoing livelihood activities of the gram panchayat and suggested taking up adequate hill broom plantation in the area.
Mahapatra who is on a visit to Koraput district visited several villages under the Kotia panchayat.
