Bhubaneswar: Odisha government aims to make the State child labour-free by 2025.
Labour & Employees’ State Insurance Minister Srikanta Sahu revealed this in the Odisha Assembly today.
Replying to a query by Bhandaripokhari MLA Prafulla Samal, Sahu said that the State government in coordination with various other departments is executing a ‘State Action Plan for Elimination of Child Labour’.
The Minister informed that during the last five years as many as 420 child labourers have been rescued in the State.
He added that most of them were working at dhabas, hotels, garages, etc.
