Bhubaneswar: The State government has accorded in-principle approval to support the setting up of a Paediatric Cancer hospital and construction of a guest house-cum-Dharmasala in the vicinity of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Jatni.
In a letter to the Director of the Tata Memorial Center (TMC)- Mumbai, the Odisha Health Department stated that the government will support funding of Rs 150 Crore for the construction of a state-of-the-art Paediatric Cancer facility at the Cancer Hospital. Of the Rs 150 cr, Rs 80 crores will be spent for the building and 70 crores for the equipment.
The amount will be placed with TMC for the purpose, the letter read.
Similarly, the State Government will construct a Dharmshala-cum-Guest House on 2 lakh square feet of land with an estimated cost of about Rs. 120 Crore in the vicinity of the hospital. The building will be handed over to TMC. The Works Department will be entrusted with the task of construction of the building, the letter said.
