Bhubaneswar: Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha today adjourned the Odisha Assembly sine die nearly a month ahead of the scheduled conclusion of its Winter Session.
The Winter Session which commenced on November 24 had 8 sittings. Out of the 8 sittings 7 were dedicated for official business and one day was dedicated for Private Member’s business.
A proposal to adjourn the House was moved by Government Chief Whip Prasanta Kumar Muduli which was supported by the members of the ruling party. Later the proposal was adopted by the Speaker.
Attending the last working day of the Winter Session Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked the members of the House for their cooperation during the session. However, opposition BJP members were not present in the House.
Only three bills were adopted during the Winter Session.
