Bhubaneswar: Election to the Odisha Assembly Deputy Speaker, which fell vacant following the resignation of Rajanikant Singh on November 8, will be held at 9.30 a.m. on November 21, a letter issued by Secretary of the Assembly to all members of the House said on Tuesday.
Biju Janata Dal leader and four-time MLA from Angul constituency, Singh had resigned from the Deputy Speaker post citing that he wanted to work to strengthen the party organisation ahead of the general elections in 2024.
Meanwhile, the Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly will have 30 business days and continue till December 30. While 23 days will be allocated for official business, six days will be set aside for Private Members’ Business (Bills and Resolutions).
