Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a gradual rise in maximum (day) temperatures by 2-4°C over the next two days across most districts of Odisha, with no significant change thereafter.
According to the latest Farmers’ Weather Bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sundergarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state for the next 24 hours.
The weather department has predicted thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Koraput.
Maximum temperature is very likely to be around 36°C and minimum temperature is likely to be around 24°C.
The IMD has advised people, especially farmers and those engaged in outdoor activities, to remain cautious of lightning and strong winds in the warned districts. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions, such as avoiding open fields during thunderstorms and securing loose objects that could be affected by gusty winds.
