Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in its first meeting on Wednesday took four significant decisions in line with the BJP’s promises in its election manifesto.
“The Cabinet has taken four decisions in its first meeting today, the first being the opening of the four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple from tomorrow early morning at the time of mangala alati,” informed Chief Minister Mohan Majhi briefing reporters at the Lok Seva Bhawan after the Cabinet meeting.
Majhi added that the gates will be opened in the presence of members of the Council of Ministers.
The CM said that the Cabinet decided to create a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore for meeting any emergency situation and conservation of Shree Jagannath Temple. This will come into effect very soon, he added.
The Cabinet today approved a proposal to bring soon a new policy for farmers -Samruddha Krushak Niti which will deal with the provision of a minimum support price of Rs 3100 per quintal of paddy, said Majhi. The policy will be brought within 100 days, he added.
Majhi said that it was decided in the Cabinet meeting to implement Subhadra Yojana within 100 days for the empowerment of women. Under this Yojana women will get cash vouchers of Rs 50,000, he added.
